Cast and Crew
Kai- Amon, aka Rainmaker - Fradri Atlantean who has elected to oppose the other Atlantean's project. He is a studier at heart and loves cataloguing the culture of humans. This he feels is a wasted process if Atlanteans keep interfering, so he tries to maintain the status quo of human progression.
"The Parent Cell" - Led by one Air Force big shot, Justin Steele, little is known about the rest of the group. It is whispered though that they oversee most operations in the Southeastern United States.
"The Child Cell" - After the confusion in Winder, the cell decided to keep on Sam and Fred (and any others they could recruit) as a child cell for support. The unique situation in which they met though means that the two cells have a more intimate relation than most.
Black Book Strike Team "Lion" - After the events of Winder and the subsequent loss of the remaining black boxes, the Black Book dispatched one of its top strike teams to "straighten things out"
Jaeger Lahange - An Oberst (colonel) in the Nazi Remnant. He has been the contact for the militia groups and in charge of them. Now that they are out of control, he is taking the heat and looking for a way out. It is in this state of desperation that OA contacts him, newly aware of the Nazi existance, and offers a deal.
"Other Atlantean" - His identity has yet to be established, but he means to gain acclaim for himself by shaking up the world's identity in the 21st Century,
Introduction -
The Other Atlantean (henceforth known as OA until I give him a name) officially notifies the Nameless of his intended plan. A well known Fradri, Kai-amon, elects to oppose him. The nameless are encouraged, because the ambition of the plan is grand. OA has decided to put the humans back in their place, and also is worried about continued tech advances. He decides that the best way to control the snake is to strike at its head - the United States of America. His plan has three parts. The first weapon is to develop something that will turn America against itself. While many issues are possible, humans are becoming more reasonable, so something is needed to reduce that reason. He takes control of an R&D wing of the Black Book by killing its head and replacing him with a Mimic. He then sets them to work building a "mood enhancer" that will be able to work on a large enough scale. To ensure success, he also has a second weapon. The hatred will work best if it is an old one - so he targets the South for his mood enhancers. He also begins subverting as many militia groups as possible, to lead the charge and create the incidents needed to start the second Civil War. The third step is to ensure that it is a fair fight - fair enough that no side will win and America will be thrown into a chaotic mess, taking the rest of the world a step backwards with it (though probably not into complete ruin, which is just as well for the Atlanteans!). This he will do through a puppet corporation in New Orleans - home of American Voodoo.
Mission 1 (Train Wreck v2.0) - Meanwhile, Kai-amon starts gathering information about OA's plans. He is frustated until by sheer luck, he happens to be meeting one of his Servants from Atlanta in a bar in Winder. The insueing fight makes him suspicious, and he poses as an Aegis agent to recruit a "cell," to spy for him, so he does not lose any of his precious resources. He thinks its probably just some Black Book psi project, and he's half right. It isn't until the "cell" reports that its a mood enhancing machine in its final testing that he realizes he must move fast. Such a machine, while easy for him to understand, should be far beyond the capability of any human, since it involves nanites.
Simple victory is not good enough for an Atlantean - it must be stylish too. So Kai-amon dupes an Aegis cell into responding to his own cell's destruction at the hands of the Black Book. In this way, it seems to be a misfortunate accident, and will not cause OA to significantly change his plans (which Kai is now onto).
Mission 2 (Convoy v2.0) - This can very based on the outcome of Mission 1
Scenario A - If any box is unrecovered, Aegis is confused at the helping hand, but persues the case. A second cell is shot up bad recovering the remaining boxes and our heroes are called on to ship it back to the Ranch (since its their fault anyway)
Scenario B - All boxes recovered. The cell must get it to the Ranch as above, but without the additional cell members - I figure if the heroes were good enough to get all the boxes from Mission 1 they need a harder challenge.
Scenario C - All boxes destroyed. This screws both the Atlanteans. Kai has lost his only lead and OA has to start from scratch. GM's should figure this one out on their own, because its already giving me a headache. Basically, just don't let this happen!
Whatever happens, the Black Book is pissed. They investigate the Mimic, who was passing them only part of the story, but he commites suicide. Further enraged, the Black Book assumes it was an Aegis plot and dispatches Deputy Marshal Mike Ferlick (In my story, "Wild" Bill Mitchell) to track down the boxes and the plans (OA actually has the plans).
Mission 3 (Eisen Faust) A militia group, The Steel Fist, has been violently protesting the US Government for 5 years now. But when the shadowy group claims responsibility for a national terrorist act, Aegis finds out that their new leader is an unstable MKUltra dropout from the 70's. They get word to see about infiltrating the group and neutralizing the leader. OA has been posing as their contact and stirring them up now that his boxes are gone. The Nazi Remnant is mad because they did not order the act and can't believe that the Steel Fist is doing it alone. Kai leaves a note, tipping the cell off to a secret meeting between the Nazi contact, Jager Lahange, and the leader, Edward Case. Meanwhile, the terrorist act knocked out an entire Black Book team, and they have dispatched their top notch hitters, Strike Team "Lion", to take down the group. The players will want to stop Lion long enough to capture Case and discover the identity of the shadowy Jager. But before they can, the militia groups members are being put in the grave one by one by an angry and betrayed Nazi Remnant. The militia is spooked, not knowing who their old benefactor really is. Once they capture Case, they can learn that a whole network of militia groups is going to strike at once on a single day. This strike will effectively do the same thing the boxes were going to! Its up to them to break up the strike by getting access to who these groups are so Aegis can nail them. Perhaps Lion would be willing to help as well. Their opponents? A newly unified and partnered OA and Nazi Remnant.
